Thinking about the life you want!

“Lazarus scowled and bit his lip. “Son, one of the few things I’ve learned is that humans hardly ever learn from
the experience of others. They learn — when they do, which isn’t often — on their own, the hard way.”” – Robert A. Heinlein – Time Enough For Love

Be Honest

It is important to be honest with yourself on the kind of life you want to live. Life is about compromises, but you should never forget to be honest with yourself.

An Exercise –

Here is an exercise in discovering what you really want:

  1. Sit down somewhere comfy. Relax.
  2. Focus on breathing for a few minutes. Think about the breath going out, the breath going in.
  3. After a few minutes of being silent with your thoughts, form the following question in your mind.
    “What makes me happy?”
  4. Think of this message, then relax for a few minutes focusing on breathing in and out.

Here are a few of my thoughts:

I am happy when I have the freedom to walk to the park with my wife.
I am happy when after a long breakfast, I can plan a simple day.

These are the things you will discover. Has anyone realized after some thought that they would be happiest working 8-12 hours and being told you will never have enough? Has anyone ever on their deathbed reached out to someone and gasp, I need more money!, Materials!, Wealth!

NO

I am here to let you know. It is enough. Live your life. Love those that love you. Have enough.

“I exist as I am, that is enough.” – Walt Whitman
